FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS

What kind of services can you provide me and my family with?

Saskiw Law provides comprehensive advocacy in many areas of law. For full details please visit the services and taxlaw sections.

I have not filed a tax return in several years. Should I file them before seeking counsel?

Absolutely not. By filing your tax return before seeking counsel you entrust the CRA to deal with your returns fairly. They often impose large penalties and charge high interest rates on late taxes. We can help you avoid these penalties and protect your money.

I have evaded taxes but am worried the CRA will find out. How can I avoid prosecution?

This question is becoming more popular especially since the Swiss government released several hundred names of Swiss bank account holders to other world governments. Seeking counsel is one of the most important things you can do in this case. You cannot trust your accountant to protect you against the CRA. They are not bound to solicitor client privilage and in fact can be ordered to testify against you. We're committed to dealing with situations EXACTLY like this. If your currently under investigation by the CRA you may not find out until they initiate prosecution against you. If they've already done so, CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY.

How do I "put my affairs in order?"

The easiest way to do this is through somebody familiar with the proper procedures and planning involved with handling your estate. We at Saskiw Law will prepare Wills, Personal Directives and Powers of Attorneys for you and your family.
